STIRLING – The Big Day is just four weeks away and shopping for gifts can take up most of your last-minute, rushing around time. But if you have access to the Internet, you have a window-of-opportunity to greatly reduce the number of hours otherwise spent dashing from store to store. Here’s the scoop: the Stirling Rotary Club is hosting a fantastic online auction featuring a wide variety of terrific items you can snap up as Christmas presents for those oh-so-special people on your list. Or perhaps you might simply grab a little something for yourself. All from the comfort of wherever you feel most comfortable browsing the Internet. “This will be our twelfth online Christmas auction,” explained Stirling Rotarian and auction organizer, Laurie Osborne, “and it gets bigger and better every year. In fact what we hear most often is how impressed visitors are with the selection and the quality of the items up for bids.”
The Stirling Rotary online Christmas auction site is a little different from most other shops you’ll find in cyberspace and likely a whole lot more fun. The list of unique gift items is extensive but here is just a sampling.
Thanks to McKillop & Associates, you can bid on a pair of second row seats to a June 2026 Bailey Zimmerman concert at The RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto. Or how about an inflatable, Packraft, 2-person, Flatwater boat, complete with a backpack carry bag and pump – a generous donation from Canadian Tire in Campbellford. And there’s a rechargeable, deluxe Husqvarna Max trimmer courtesy of McIntosh Motors in Stirling. As well, there are numerous gift cards, green fee passes to local golf courses and a wide assortment of one-of-a-kind gift bags from the many generous supporters of this popular Christmas fundraiser.
You won’t find such an incredible variety of items in any one store. But you will find it on the Stirling Rotary Online Christmas Auction website. Please see the link below.
And even though the Stirling Rotary online Christmas Auction is a site on the World Wide Web, it’s really just a friendly neighbourhood shop – not unlike an old time General Store, filled with a hodgepodge of items – in this case items generously donated by thoughtful, good-hearted neighbours. Yet aside from the thrill of participating in a virtual auction, you’ll have that warm feeling that you are helping to support a most worthy cause. And that’s because all proceeds from the auction stay right in the neighbourhood to support the Stirling Community Cupboard (Food Bank) along with their Christmas Food & Toy Drive – an annual campaign that ensures no child will be without a Christmas gift and that all needy families in Stirling-Rawdon will enjoy a Christmas dinner with all the fixings. “Our club certainly appreciates how fortunate we are to be living in such a caring community,” said Osborne, as she sorted through and continued to add items to the auction site, then added, “Our auction line-up is this impressive thanks to the generosity of many Stirling area businesses and of course the tremendous support from our friends over Campbellford way.”
The Stirling Rotary Online Christmas Auction goes ‘live’ at 5:00 p.m. Friday Nov. 28 and runs until noon, Friday Dec. 5th. Here’s how to get there: www.airauctioneer.com/25stirlingrotarychristmas
