Pictured here, surrounding the enormous 318 lb pumpkin, is Julie Yoo of the Pro One Stop, alongside weight-guess winners, Patrick Semark, 7-year-old Harrison Cole, Mike Kerby of Kerby Hollow Farms and Stirling Food Bank volunteer, Don McCrory. And thanks to the Pro One Stop and all who entered this year’s guess-the-weight-of-the-giant-pumpkin contest, the Stirling Food Bank has received a welcome donation of $775.00.
Welcome to the Rotary Club of Stirling
Are you an established professional who wants to make positive changes in your community and the world? Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship. Becoming a Rotarian connects you with a diverse group who share your drive to give back.
Stirling residents, and resourceful weight guessers, Makayla (left) and Braydon, have tried just about everything they can think of to determine the weight of the giant pumpkin, that sits outside the Pro One Stop convenience store in Stirling. The enormous pumpkin is the centerpiece of the annual, fun-filled, guess-the-weight-of-the-pumpkin contest held at the Pro One Stop until Wednesday, October 29 at 4 pm. It’s a 50/50 contest with half the proceeds going to the local Food Bank.
Pictured here to the left and right of Julie and Min Yoo (center) are (from left) Stirling Rotarians, Laurie Osborne and Donna Graff along with Stirling Lions, Angela Neumayer and Deb Brown. Each year, for the past dozen or so years, the two local service clubs have worked together to assist Julie and Min with their annual Customer Appreciation Barbeque – held every summer, on site, at the Pro One Stop in Stirling.
You just never know what treasures you might discover at Stirling Rotary’s Giant Yard Sale. Pictured here are just a few of the many curious bargain-hunters browsing through a variety of items at the 2019 event. This year’s Giant Yard Sale takes place over two days at the historic railway station in the village. All are invited to shop Friday June 13 as well as Saturday June 14, from 8:00 a.m. until noon each day. All proceeds will be used to fund Stirling Rotary’s many worthwhile community projects.
Two beautiful smiles as longtime Stirling Food Bank volunteer, Heather Bailey (left) is delighted to accept a cheque in the amount of $7,500 from Stirling Rotarian, Laurie Osborne. The $7,500 represents the total proceeds from the local service club’s eleventh annual Christmas online auction – a dedicated fundraiser – organized and run by the Rotary Club of Stirling in support of the Stirling Food Bank since 2014.
